Results of biopsy ...

Dr. Wolff called me today with the biopsy results at 2 pm. I wanted to wait and tell the family before I posted the results. He said the 1 cm spot on the liver is malignant, which has has apparently spread from the initial tumor. The pancreas and lymph nodes appear to be okay. These findings call for a change of treatment plans, so we discussed the options. So far I have chosen to have a different chemotherapy regimen administered here at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Considering how I feel and my present health status it appears that it would be okay to do so. Both Dr. Wolff (Houston) and Dr. Patten (B.R.) will be working together on my treatment plan. Two other options were given, but that would involve either going to Houston every 3 weeks for treatment or having to move to Houston for an experimental treatment. Statistically, the option of staying home for treatment has a higher success rate than the other two. That is not only good to know, but convenient logistically speaking. I will know more about when the treatments will start after the two Dr.s talk. That is it.
The Word of God says that 'by His stripes I am healed'. We believed it before and we believe it now. That has not changed. We are going to believe God, period. We continue to pray. Thanks for all of the prayer and encouragement. God Bless.
P.S. I picked about 5 lbs. of okrathis evening!!! I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I got to the back and started picking. Praise God for the increase.

With all of the technology today, the greatest educated minds and the most state of the art equipment can't figure out what holds together the smallest of elements. As Gods children we know who holds it all together, smallest and the greatest. The same Lord who has you in His hand George!!! Regardless of any man's report,...God is in control! We will continue to STAND and BELIEVE the creator of the universe is in the midst of you and your families circumstances. HE IS FAITHFUL ALWAYS!!!!

My child, do see the love pouring out unto you? I will never leave you nor forsake you! Be strong, continue to drink of MY words and I will continue to strengthen you. When you turn to the left, I am with you, when you turn to the right I am also with you...My Spirit saturates yours for I am in you! Continue to pour out ALL of who you are in me, as you do other's will be touched by the aroma of my presence and many will come to know me during this time. I am your "abba" daddy and I will not abandon you! Sing child of mine. Sing, for I delight in the praises of my children! A song I will give you, for a song is what I take pleasure in hearing!
Remember, My Spirit dwells richly IN you therefore what you pour out will be rich to others! Put your whole confidence in My Words; remain quiet where I have placed you, say's the Lord.

Psalm 147:1-11
Praise the Lord. How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise Him!
The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers the exiles of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit. The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. He covers the sky with clouds; He supplies the earth with rain and makes grass grow on the hills. He provides food for the cattle and for the young ravens when they call. His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor His delight in the legs of a man; the Lord delights in those who fear Him, WHO PUT THEIR HOPE IN HIS UNFAILING LOVE!

This is what flowed from my heart this morning as I read your blog....may the Lord have the final word and show His Spirit mightily amongst the Nations! Pray George and Robin for the Lost...they are coming in!

George, We are called to believe and have "faith". Lately, I have really been asking what this all means. In light of your circumstances, and "reality" we can either accept what we see or put our hope in what we don't. I say, "Lord help my unbelief" and He is doing just that. I must belive for you, believe He will heal, believe He said for me to believe that, and know that He still does heal. It's not about me not wanting you to die, it's about me and everyone that calls themselves a Christian standing, praying and believing what Jesus did and said.

George,
STAND. BELIEVE. TRUST. DOUBT NOT. PRAISE. WORSHIP. REST. SURRENDER. BASK IN HIS PRESENCE WHERE LIFE and PEACE ARE ETERNAL. Now, if you look to your right, to your left, behind you, all around... you will see a host of your believing friends, brothers and sisters with their eyes on Christ doing the same FOR and WITH YOU!!!!

George, my prayer for you today is to have the courage and attitude of Paul as he wrote his letter to the Philippians. I have seen it, and I hope that you too can see the purpose God has called you. I hope you will meditate on the entire book today, but here are a few selected passages which I found particularly inspiring...

"I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ. And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprissonment, are much more bold to speak the word without fear." (Phil. 1:12-14)

Can you see, George, how you have encouraged others in their faith and boldness to speak?

"Finally, brothers, whatevr is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me -- practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." (Phil. 4:8-9)

George, your words spoken and written have reflected these same sentiments and have encouraged others to put into action their faith...

"I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." (Phil. 4:12-13)

I heard you once say something to the effect that learning to be content in any place that God has placed you is the secret to living. I know that you know the source of your contentment, peace, and strength. Of that, there is no doubt. But, I hope today, Wednesday, August 9th, that you can feel the lift of flight as He carries you forward on Eagle's wings...

"The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might He increases strength...but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." (Is. 40:28b-31)
