Here it is ...

You've got to read this one . . .
Well, I told you I was going to finish my story, so here it is. Do you all remember me requesting prayer for a young boy named Austin Barber who needed a heart/lung transplant soon? After having left Houston last time he was still waiting. We lost track of his status after we had visited him in the Children’s hospital for a lung infection. On the way into Houston today, I told the family wouldn’t it be awesome if we showed up at the RV Resort only to find out Austin had already had the transplant and was walking around like brand new. That was a prayerful wish on my part, since I really did not know either way. We get our stuff straight at the office, head to our house and guess who is living next door to us? Austin Barber and his parents!!! He comes out of his house - walking around outside as if nothing had ever happened! Something was missing though – oh yeah, his oxygen tube and bottle which he had on 24/7. His color looks great (his fingers would turn bluish in color) and he is not coughing. We found out this: the surgery was on June 28th – instead of the 8 to 12 hours predicted for the complete operation, his lasted 3 ½ hours. He was in the hospital 3 weeks for recovery and was then released to the park with limited people contact. Four weeks after the surgery he is given the okay to get out and about more. Since he was born, he has never had any solid food, only water and a medically formulated liquid through a peg tube. Now he can eat real food! I am so amped (excited) I have been beside myself. I don’t know what else to say but praise God! Miracles still do happen! I cannot get that chubby little smiling face out of my mind. His mom and dad look great too – the relief on their faces is very visible. The stress and worry are gone, knowing over the past 12 plus years that their son was destined to have to get to this point (if he was lucky). It is now over and it is time to get on with living – no more waiting. Praise God!
I am once again overwhelmed by how great God is to us. We were talking on the road about how God’s ways are so much higher than our ways and His understanding is so much higher than ours. We concluded that no matter how things turn out that God’s ultimate motivation is His love for us. And that anytime we think God has missed some detail or is not taking care of His business the way we think He should, that we are the ones who are lacking the understanding – not God. Our ignorance – willful or not – is usually the root of our own frustration with God. He is light, and in Him no darkness dwells.
