The Buck Stops here....

How abou that rack? Robin's cousin Lloyd shot this 16 point deer recently. He said it weighed in at 185 lbs. He said this was the largest rack he has ever shot and yes, he was shaking when he saw the rack but did not fully appreciate the size and number off points until he got right up on it - and started getting the shakes all over again. That is quite a trophy buck.

We spent the evening in Bogalusa visiting with family. That is where we saw the pictures of the deer and the antlers. The food was way too good. I almost ate too much! That is one thing I have to be careful about - this time of year is dangerous for guys like me that can "graze". The food was good, yes, but getting to spend time with family means a whole lot more. That is another main reason for the season.

Life passes so fast, it is so short and yet in the beginning it seems as though it is not passing fast enough. Then you find yourself wanting for it to slow down, especially as the kids get older. This tells me that our time here is very brief, a one shot kind of thing if you will. So, I want to give it my best shot.

I would like to take this time to wish all of you a very blessed Christmas. That God's Presence would grace all of your family/friend time and that Jesus would be lifted up.

More later . . .

I found your entry due to a Google Blogs Alert I have for: "Bogalusa". I have lived here for all of my 51 years as has my husband of 33 years.

I felt I should let you know that I was touched by your entry and your entire blog as I enjoy reading articles written by Christians that reflect such peace as yours did. I would like to link to your page and invite you to visit my pages:

Merry Christmas to you and your family George, also a Happy New Year, that brings prosperity, peace and joy. I wanted to do this before tonight, but I left Friday for Guatemala and just got back in. It was a wonderful trip, short buy good. Zuly had not been home for Christmas in 17 years and the kids and I had never experienced Christmas in their culture. It is really different. The traditions were neat to see. The best thing of all was to see that the children there are not spoiled to the commercialism we have here. They are content just having the family together, all the food and yes, believe it or not, popping fire-crackers at midnight. The sound is unbelievable. It sounds like a war zone. Well I hope that all enjoyed Christmas and pray that God continues to pour our his blessings on you and your family.
